[dropcap]W[/dropcap]e are now at the peak of wahoo season. As water temperatures decrease, some great ones are being caught all over Abaco. When bait trolling for wahoo, the bait I like using best is fresh ballyhoo, rigged with a special technique. High speed trolling the right lure, such as an Islander lure, and speed are key. Depending on the winds and the cold fronts, there are some slow days, but when the wind and moon are right there is sure to be screaming lines! Dolphin (mahi-mahi) have also been showing up while bait trolling and along weed. Abaco is famous for some big bulls! When the pelagic species are sleeping, deep dropping in around 700 feet of water with electric reels always produces some beautiful queen snappers and groupers.
