So sorry I missed last month, but you may have noticed I spent more time in the boat than usual!

This is a very exciting month as the opportunity for big fish has arrived. Dolphin will still be prolific, but now we will add yellowfin and blackfin tuna to the list.
The waters have stayed warm throughout the winter so we have been blessed with very large early schools of dolphin. Trolling with skirted ballyhoo, 4 to 5 lines out at a time will assure you a double or triple strike! Keep an eye out for frigate birds. We have seen a number of them chasing the schools up onto the reef, so don’t be afraid of trolling in 200 to 300 feet. You will be pleasantly surprised!
This is a great time as well for some bottom fishing, producing a nice haul of yellowfin rock fish, and some large yellowtail snappas.
Enjoy your fishing here in South Abaco.
