THE ABACOS

The Abaco Cays’ are in high gear for the upcoming 38th annual All Abaco Regatta: July 3-July 11. With the official motto being “It’s a party every night…in a different location” you know you’re in for some major fun. Book your accommodations now before it is too late!

Kicking off with the “Stranded Naked Cheeseburger Party”– the biggest beach party in the Abacos, this is an incredible day of fun in the sun with free food, drinks, and music on uninhabited Fiddle Cay; Fiddle Cay is the next small cay north of Green Turtle Cay– approximately a 10 minute dingy ride from the anchorage at Green Turtle Cay. The party, where everyone is welcome, starts at 11:00 a.m., July 3rd.

The regatta moves to different locations giving everyone a taste of Abaco’s towns, resorts and pockets of remote isolation. The five races are interspersed with awards and lay day parties. These social events have a large following of land-based visitors, probably equal in numbers to the sailors. The restaurants, hotels, guesthouses, and marinas look forward to the Regatta and the financial contribution made to the various settlements–a result of hundreds of visitors, both on land and sea, who come for the festivities.
