[dropcap]A[/dropcap]s if fishing in the central islands wasn’t good enough already, AWESOME catches with happy results for almost every boat that ventures out.

It’s just getting started! The best fishing is yet to come. Marlin will begin to show up in an unexpected early arrival. So if you have the least bit of interest, put a big marlin lure in the middle of the spread just in case. The big man shows up. We’ve caught marlin this year on December 31st. A great way to end the year. And I’ve heard of several other catches of marlin on a regular basis.

Wahoo, mahi and tuna will be getting stronger as the next several weeks move on. This is the time to double-check your gear and be on your game, because anything can happen this month. Run your basic spread and as I said, if bills are welcome, run something a little bigger. Deep drop will remain strong and reef fishing should be excellent.
