[dropcap]W[/dropcap]ell, I hope you all got all the gear and the boat in order, because now it’s time to go fishing! This month the wahoo fishing should begin to ramp up. With water temps cooling, schools of smaller wahoo (15-to-40 pounds) will be moving into Exuma Sound as they migrate throughout the Bahamas. There will also be a few small schools of mahi-mahi mingling in with the wahoo.

Working the wall from 200 to 1000 feet, will be a great place to start. Trolling at anywhere from 7 to 12 knots will be the target zone depending on what style of trolling and speed your rigs will be able to handle. For colors, the black and blue really seemed to get them last season. Other colors to consider are blue and white or green and blue. If you run a lot of dark colors and no bites, try a solid pink. Yes, solid pink! For the mahi, I like a small Islander Bullet on the surface to cover all the bases. Deep dropping will be very good as well this month should you luck out on trolling. Avoid the shallows because cuda fishing will also be red hot this month. Bottom fishing will also be good. Anywhere on the patch reefs from 60 to 150 feet will give you good results. Well bend a rod, get out there and go get you some!

Tight lines.
