[dropcap]H[/dropcap]ey everyone, it’s November and the nights are getting cooler and the water is telling all divers it’s time to start pulling out those wetsuits! I know that’s not what you want to hear, but this is reality.

Grand Bahama is known for its awesome boat dives, but for you avid shore divers, do I have a treat for you! Sunn Odyssey Divers makes rental tanks available to any divers interested in shore diving. You may be asking where is the reef close enough to shore for that on Grand Bahama Island? Well, if you are willing to take the drive toward the West End, I can assure you that you are in for a treat.

Paradise Cove at Deadman’s Reef is one of a very few places which has a reef right off the beach. It is run by the Smith Family and they are very accommodating to shore divers. Their shuttle bus that picks up from all the hotels, as well as the cruise port, and will even pick tanks up from our shop and return all the equipment to us at the end of the day.

The depth of this dive will max out at about 30 feet; but man-o-man, is there lots to see. On any given day there are tons of fish, nurse sharks, turtles and we always see spotted eagle rays. So, if you don’t want to boat it, then shore dive it! And don’t forget, you can rent all your gear from Sunn Odyssey Divers, including wetsuits if needed, and we can also arrange your pick up for an outstanding shore diving day at Paradise Cove.
