Happy New Year Anglers! We are looking forward to an amazing season of fishing on the south end of Eleuthera. Dolphin showed up in small groups of two and three in December and we look forward to them showing up by the 100’s in the coming months.

Wahoo are still plentiful and big. Had an interesting day in December. Went fishing for wahoo—lost eight and landed four. In less than four hours we had a 60, 50, 30 and 20 pounder in the boat. Our only problem was that we lost all the big ones due to other wahoo in the school we were chasing. We had four lines go off at once and all four fish hooked up solid, and then the lines went silent. No equipment failure, no angler errors and no captain or mate errors. The problem was too many wahoo wanted to feed at once. Only happen to me one other time and that was eight years ago. When this happens, get on the rod and on the drag ASAP to get as much line back as possible to keep the fish close. You’ll have a much better chance of success. We have been working the wall, moon and tide. We have fished water depths of 75 to 200 feet with great success.

Tip of the month— always use you fish finder and GPS map on split screen so you can prepare for multiple hits.

I will keep you posted on what happens in January it should be just fabulous. Keep watching the Brag Board for our friends and family from Davis Harbor, Eleuthera Bahamas.

Tight lines!
