The Biggest Charleston Boat Show in its 35-Year History Is Jan. 29-31

The 36th Annual Charleston Boat Show is the biggest it has ever been. This year the show boasts 75 different boat brands and 150 exhibitors with a waiting list of exhibiting companies.

“It’s a great sign of a very strong marine industry. There are so many new and interesting products on the market,” said long-time show producer, Jacqui Bomar of JBM & Associates.

The team at JBM is actually trying to work out a way to secure additional vendor space for the successful show, which already takes the convention center exhibit halls, all of the hallway space, some of the upstairs meeting rooms, a major portion of the parking lot and front sidewalk space.

This show is like one big annual family reunion filled with all the newest boat models for sale, along with new marine merchandise and services. It is held annually at the end of January at the Charleston Area Convention Center complex in North Charleston.

Every year, the region’s major boat dealers polish up their new inventory and bring it to the show to sell. The manufacturers are also on hand to help answer questions and support the dealers as 10,000 boating enthusiasts clamor to see the most beautiful boats in the country.

“Think of it as a beauty pageant where hundreds of contestants impress and try to outdo each other,” said Bomar. The boats are the contestants and take an entire week to prepare for the big annual debut.

Along with all the amazing boats, there is great fun for the family with a pirate treasure hunt, kids’ fishing classes, free rods and reels for the kids, along with a plethora of other activities for children and adults. For a full schedule, visit www.TheCharlestonBoatShow.com.
