Stuart Sailfish Club’s Light Tackle Tournament Moves To Sailfish Point

This season, Sailfish Point has invited the Light Tackle Tournament to indulge in the breathtaking views and amenities of the ultra-private community. It is sure to be the highlight of the winter tournament season.

The three-day Light Tackle Tournament will promote both the sport and the conservation of game fish, permitting only dead bait, circle hooks and light tackle in this all-release tournament. Double-digit releases have become a standard of the tournament, and the list of competing boats reads as a who’s who in the tournament circuit.

New this year, the tournament will allow open-console boats over 30 feet and will offer an Amateur Championship division. Pro-division boats are invited to enjoy a round of golf with their teams just prior to Thursday’s Captain’s Meeting.

Breakfast buffets and dinner parties will impress foodies, and the spa offerings, beach club, tennis club and golf course will keep the land-lovers busy.

The Awards Banquet will be held at Sailfish Point’s well-appointed clubhouse. A cocktail hour and lavish dinner lead up to the presentation of the trophies and award money. Portions of the tournament proceeds will benefit the Stuart Sailfish Club’s Scholarship Fund, the Sailfish Point Scholarship Fund and the Martin County Artificial Reef Project.

The Stuart Sailfish Club’s 61st Annual Light Tackle Tournament will be held Dec. 11–14 at Sailfish Point in Stuart, Fla. Register early for discounted rates and premier boat slips.
