North Eleuthera Dive Forecast – August 2011

I just love taking guests diving in August. The waters are calm and very warm (typically mid-eighties), and the fish just seem to love it too. This month the reefs are crowded with massive shoals of fish of all colors and species, a true underwater photographer’s delight. As I mentioned earlier in the fishing forecast with regards to hotels, dive shops are also preparing for hurricane season and locals are taking vacations. The best way to operate this time of the year is to rent a small boat and hire an insured divemaster or instructor for the day. This will cost you a little more but your experience will be far greater that trying to book a trip with a dive company. This works well especially if you have a small group. The underwater world of Eleuthera is just blooming in August and everything seems to have new life. Take advantage of the off-season and visit North Eleuthera for some really great diving. You won’t be disappointed. See you soon!
