WEEKLY OKEECHOBEE FISHING REPORT: Jan. 22 – 24

Recent rains have raised lake and stream levels considerably. The Peace River spiked by 5-ft this past week though it’s returning to normal levels quickly. Other streams such as Fisheating Creek and Arbuckle Creek also saw a major spike in flow rates. Jan 22nd, 2016

The recent cold weather and rain has cooled of lake temperatures and kicked started the winter patterns. The Crappie bite through-out the area is in full gear. You may have to search around to find a group of them but when you do, you’ll find the bite very active.Jan 14th, 2016

Gray skies and a chance of rain won’t stop this weekend’s fishing. The BFL Tournament is going out of C. Scott Driver this weekend and the King of the Glades is going out of Roland Martin’s on Sunday. Male bass have been steady in the beds and females are beginning to show up. For the first time in many weeks, the wind is supposedly going to cooperate this weekend and provide some nice fishing conditions. Take advantage of it while you can for Speck fishing has turned up a notch and in Lake Okeechobee the bigger males are coming onto the beds. Jan 1st, 2016

Weekly Okeechobee Fishing Report: Dec. 25 – 27

This weekend should be a great weekend for fishing. With the weatherman predicting a long steady period of warm temperatures, the fish should have adjusted from last weekend’s cold snap and getting back into their pre-spawn and spawning cycles. Speck fishing has improved both in fishing duration and quality of fish taken.Dec 24th, 2015

Last week’s cool front produced good results in local Speck, bass and catfishing. This weekend’s cold front should lower water temperatures even further and entice Lake Okeechobee bass onto the beds. Dec 17th, 2015

Finally some cool weather has set upon us with most of the area seeing upper-50’s to low 60’s at night. According to all pundits, this is exactly what we have been waiting for to turn-on the fishing.
