Lake Seminole turned over last month, and that has slowed the fishing down a bit. But things are starting to improve, and the fishing is heating up. You can catch some really nice bass if you fish real early in the morning and late in the evenings. The grass has started to top out and top water lures such as a Strike King 3/8 oz. Buzz Bait with a light skirt fished slowly over the top of the grass has been producing some big ones. Bass have also been taken on crank baits like a Strike King KVD 1.0 Square Bill in Sexy Shad fished around the edge of the Hydrilla.

We’ve seen some beautiful shellcrackers and bream coming across the docks at Wingate’s Lunker Lodge. They’re being caught on wigglers and crickets. It’s still hot out there in September, but if you can take the heat, you can catch some fish!
