Sailfish Challenge Returns Feb. 22-26

Touted as the largest sailfish tournament in the country, the Sailfish Challenge is returning to Fort Lauderdale February 22 – 26.

The third leg of Bluewater Movements’ Quest for the Crest Sailfish Series, one of the most distinguishing features of the Sailfish Challenge is its unique, three inlet format. Teams can check in to Government Cut in Miami, Hillsboro Inlet in Pompano Beach or Lake Worth Inlet in West Palm Beach following each day of fishing. This feature is a great compliment to the event’s date in February as the bite can turn on anywhere up and down the South Florida coastline this time of year.

On Wednesday, Feb. 22, from 6 to 10 p.m., teams fishing the 2017 Challenge will enjoy the tournament kickoff party at Bokamper’s Sports Bar & Grill in Ft. Lauderdale. There will be food & hospitality bar for sponsors and anglers, live music, casino gaming fundraising, and a silent auction to benefit tournament charities. With 400 feet of dock space on the water, there’s no reason to drive to this party! The Captain’s Meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m.

Sailfish Challenge competition days—Friday and Saturday, Feb 24 and 25—will start with lines in at 8 a.m.; lines out at 4 p.m. Catch all the action live by watching live tournament streaming by visiting www.sailfishchallenge.com online to watch the leader board in real time. It’s the next best thing to fishing the tournament!

Teams will also be treated to a fabulous dining experience at the closing awards dinner and ceremony held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb, 26, at Blue Moon Fish Company on the water in Ft. Lauderdale.

More than 500 anglers and 70 boats and competed in the 2016 event. Jichi snagged 1st place and over a $163,000 payout. Who will it be in 2017?
