Backcountry Fishing Association May 2016 Tournament Results

Fishing out of Little Jim’s in Fort Pierce, twenty-three teams found plenty of snook, redfish and trout to weigh during the Backcountry Fishing Association’s May tournament of the 2016 season!

Josh Partin and Donnie Gribble, of Vero Beach, won the event and $402.50 for catching the biggest inshore slam in Backcounty Fishing Association history: a 5.37-pound redfish, a 2.59-pound trout, and a 9.25-pound snook for a combined weight of 17.21 pounds. Mark Dravo and Mark Browning, of Fort Pierce, placed second and earned $241.50 for their 5.51-pound redfish and 2.84-pound trout. Eddie Hess, of Fort Pierce, and Glenn Kusmerz, of West Palm Beach, took third and a cash prize of $161.00 for a 4.4-pound redfish and a 3.99-pound trout.

The next Backcountry Fishing Association tournament will take place June 3-4, 2016 out of Little Jim Bridge Bait and Tackle in Fort Pierce.

The Backcountry Fishing Association is a Treasure Coast inshore fishing organization, appealing to families and fishing buddies alike, who fish in a team format for cash prizes.
