[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Backcountry Fishing Association (BCFA) was founded in 2015 and has a 10-month circuit, running the first Saturday of every month from January through October, with the Classic being held in October. Captains meetings are held 6 p.m. the night before the tournament at Little Jim Bait and Tackle in Fort Pierce.

BCFA is a team event, with teams being comprised of two anglers, which fish together for the entire season.

Target species are redfish, snook and trout. All events are artificial only (live baits not permitted), all fish must be weighed in at Little Jim Bait and Tackle, boats must remain in the water, live weigh-in with dead fish resulting in a four-ounce deduction, and any under or over slot fish resulting in automatic disqualification.

Weigh-in begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m.

Membership fee for the year is $20 per person. The tournament fee is $60 per team. To learn more, email BCfishingassociation@gmail.com or call Brandon Hooper at (772) 370-1055.
