[dropcap]I[/dropcap]nshore action will be hot this month along with the temperatures. The summer pattern of fishing early should be a priority before the bite turns off. Big trout are being caught on topwater plugs at first light and low light conditions. “Walk the dog style” plugs are driving the big trout crazy. D.O.A. C.A.L. jigs with 1/8 oz. jig heads, bounced through the sandy pot holes, along mangrove points and docks have a positive effect of the trout and reds. Be adventurous and fish the flats during a full moon and I guarantee you will come back with a good fish story. Check the channel markers for triple tail with a shrimp tipped jig. Snook season is closed, so please handle the big girls with TLC so that you do not stress them out. Watch out for the man in the grey suit looking for quick meal on a semi lethargic snook release. It is more of a challenge to catch a snook out of season when they are not stacked in the inlets. The tarpon fishing should pick up this month with fish hanging around Club Med to Coconut Point, Big Mud Creek and along the beaches and Inlets. Sight fishing for tarpon on the roll makes it a little bit easier to toss bait at.  Look for plenty of snapper along the channel edges eating shrimp on a jig head.

Watch the afternoon thunderstorms and keep the waterways clean.
