Inshore

[dropcap]S[/dropcap]pring is in full swing. Glass minnows will be the bait to match the hatch this month. Artificial baits like D.O.A. C.A.L. Shad Tails, jerk bait and TerrorEyz will work well around the mangroves, docks and bridges. For those who may want to do some kayak fishing in northern Palm Beach County, launching your kayak inside the John D. MacArthur Beach State Park should produce trout and snook along the mangroves when the tide is moving.

Offshore

April will start to bring bigger pushes of blackfin tuna to the area. Vertical jigging in 230-350 feet will produce 4-to-8-pounders on average. Don’t overlook trolling plugs like Yo-Zuri Crystal Minnows to pick up a few tuna as well. Sailfish, mahi, kings and wahoo are all on the menu this time of year. Working the normal goggle eyes and blue runners will give you the best shot at a hook up. Finally don’t forget about the cobia. Bouncing the reef will put you in line for one of these tasty fish.
