Second to the fall bite, the “ice out” spring feeding of pike can be incredible!! I’ve tied this fly in the traditional pike fly colors of red and white. However, don’t be afraid to experiment with chartreuse, black, yellow etc…The important factor is to have a contrast in your color combination.
The Fish Mask makes for quick and easy finish to this streamer. Another option is to leave the deer hair ends exposed and trim them in a bullet shape. Both will push water and get the fishes attention!
