Well its HOT, Africa hot, and so is the fishing around Dauphin Island. The trout have been on fire lately in Mississippi Sound, Mobile Bay and the Gulf side of Sand, Pelican and Dauphin Island and Fort Morgan. We have been catching them with slip cork rigs around the gas rigs in the Bay and around any deep water structure,10 to 15 feet deep, suspending the live shrimp in the lower third or quarter of the water column.Alabama Gulf Coast EditionJul 1st, 2013
We got 6 plus inches of rain on the eastern shore last month and its effects are starting to work its way out of Mobile Bay. The water is starting to clear and the water temperature is heading for the mid 80's. Take advantage of the last month of fishing before the summertime water temps head for the 90's and everything slows down. Choose your bait to match the water conditions and depth where you are fishing. Alabama Gulf Coast EditionJul 1st, 2013
The day on the water had been good. I loaded the boat on the trailer, bragged with a few friends and prepared for the trip back to the house. Wouldnât you know, while driving home I watched the trailer tire go flat right before my eyes! Being prepared for such an issue can mean waiting for AAA or other roadside service organization or changing the tire yourself. Having the right tools and equipment will make your tire change quick, easy and safe.Alabama Gulf Coast EditionJun 4th, 2013

The Sun is rising earlier and if you are sleeping in you are missing some great topwater speckled trout action this month! We are fishing deeper holes that are coming off the shallows. Cast your plug on the flats and work them over the edge of the drop offs with a fast steady âwalk the dogâ retrieve. The fish have been aggressive and we are fishing larger baits like the mirrOlure top dog and Rapala Skitterwalk.Alabama Gulf Coast EditionJun 3rd, 2013
