[dropcap]W[/dropcap]ell folks, the hot summer is upon us and so is the fishing!! The lower end of the bay has been on fire for trout and tripletail. All the usual places, the gas rigs and wrecks in the bay and in Mississippi sound are holding some good trout. The usual summer pattern is in play. Slip cork fishing the rigs and wrecks with live shrimp or croaker is working really well. The reefs along the Eastern Shore have been spotty. The freshwater has finally seemed to push out and the saltwater is making its way up the bay. The Mobile River has some big trout hanging around; live pogies seem to be the key bait to catching them. The flounder made a run and are being caught in the usually places. The tripletail have been making their presence known in the bay also. Look for floating debris or channel markers to find this awesome catch. The redfish report has been spotty. Some reds are being caught in the upper bay around the piers and along some of the reefs. North Pass seems to be holding some nice slot reds. So, gear up and bring plenty of sunscreen and let’s go fill the cooler with fish! Hope to see ya on the water!!
