Tournament Summary
Fishing in the 2016 Quepos Billfish Cup began on February 4th and finished February 6th. Day 1 brought a lot of action with team Caliente releasing 30 sailfish and team Fish Tank releasing a close 28 sails. On Day 2 the top boats were Fish Tank with 18 sailfish released and team Tranquilo not far behind with 14 sails released. Team Fish Tank stole the show on Day 3 with 17 sailfish released, making them the champions of the 2016 Quepos Billfish Cup! Sailfish released by Fish Tank throughout the duration of the tournament totaled 63. Team Caliente came in 2nd place releasing 49 sailfish and 1 blue marlin. Team Tranquilo finished in 3rd with 34 sailfish and 1 blue marlin released. And let’s not forget to congratulate the angler, Kelvin, who caught the heaviest Dorardo of the tournament at 27 lbs winning him a cash prize!
