Paddle enthusiasts can test their skills at the 4thAnnual Palm Beach Paddlefestrace set for Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. in Jupiter at Harbourside Place, 200 North US Highway 1.
The popular paddle event, hosted by the Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County, Inc.(MIAPBC), features two races, a six and two-mile race accommodating both men and women with six categories including SUP 12’6, SUP 14, Prone (all), OC-1, Surfski Single and Kayak. “This year we increased our long race from five to six miles based on feedback we received from racers. We also are adding a new and free kids fun SUP race,” says Alyssa Freeman, the operations director for MIAPBC and chairperson of the event. The short race is two miles.
The event kicks off with a relaxing yoga session by Breathe Salt Yogaat 9:00 a.m. Paddle races will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the six-mile course, followed by the two-mile race course and kids fun SUP race. Afterwards, a post-race awards ceremony takes place at Harbourside Place Amphitheater. Cash prizes will be awarded for SUP (14’ and under) top three male and female overall ($250-$750) and top surfski male and female ($250). Trophies will be awarded to the top three male and female overall, plus first place male and female in each division.

Pre-registration race fee is $50 for the long race and $40 for the short race, or $65.00 for the long race and $55 for the short race the day of the event. The registration fee includes a 2019 Palm Beach Paddlefest collectible TunaskinECHO performance t-shirt or tank, chance to win a custom trophy and cash prizes, and entry to the racer lounge with complimentary food and beverages.
