Inalee Yost caught this #160 & #209 Yellow Fin Ahi in Off of the Waianae Coast on the Island of Oahu.
What a surprise! Just my husband and I went fishing on the 4th of July and suddenly 3 reels started screaming with hook ups, 2 of the fish held on good. We both took a pole and began the fight to real them in, often having to stop and let the fish do their runs. As both Ahi’s crossed lines, we also had to maneuver the poles around each other. I also had to run back and forth to repostion the boat and my pole, as my husband fought the bigger of the fish. Ugh, our auto pilot was not working. We finally landed both fish one at a time together for about an hour or so.
It was awesome! Exhausted and tired, I laughed and said no way! when my husband said “you want to troll for more”? I immediately threw the boat into gear and headed back to the docks.
