One of Boston’s most popular dining destinations, Temazcal Tequila Cantina, has opened its doors in Lynnfield’s trendy new MarketStreet Development. Taking upscale Mexican cuisine a step further, Temazcal in Lynnfield offers traditional and modern Mexican cuisine and an unparalleled tequila bar. This new location is the second to open in Massachusetts. Using only the finest, fresh ingredients, authentic recipes, and over 250 tequilas, Temazcal offers an urban, contemporary vibe with a proven formula for success. In 2011, the first Temazcal Tequila Cantina opened on the waterfront at Liberty Wharf in Boston’s lively Seaport District to overwhelming success. In March of 2013, it was ranked among the Top 10 Restaurants by Best of Luxury.
Temazcal Lynnfield embodies the perfect just a position of antique charm and modern design both inside and outside. The incorporation of natural materials like reclaimed wood, steel and wrought iron and brass give a romantic, yet worldly feel to the restaurant; it also offers contemporary amenities like outlets for phone chargers and a heated outdoor patio. A wall of glass allows diners to look out onto the MarketStreet patio, decorated with Spanish imported furniture and a cozy fire pit situated among futon couches.
The solid walnut bar is accentuated by an overhead, hanging structure, which shows off Temazcal’s impressive tequila collection – over 250 varieties – that are housed within a “tequila library” built from 15 ft. cabinets. Diners can choose from a range of seating options including circular leather booths, high tops and lower banquettes, all featuring inlaid tabletops. Temazcal’s layout and design incorporates the right amounts of traditional and contemporary, similar to the culinary and beverage programs offered.
The Lynnfield Market Street kitchen is helmed by Executive Chef Mynor Salguero; guests will indulge in fresh, authentic Mexican cuisine with the best local ingredients incorporated, including locally-crafted corn tortillas. A good portion of the new Temazcal Tequila Cantina menu will feature different items and/or ingredients from that of the restaurants’ Boston location. Standout dishes include Swordfish Salguero (grilled swordfish, sautéed spinach, mushrooms, red peppers, cherry tomatoes topped with jumbo lump crab meat, saffron cream sauce, and served with saffron rice) and Asada Skirt Steak Tacos (marinated grilled skirt steak, salsa roja, pickled Serrano chile, and avocado).
With 18 years of professional experience both in the kitchen and in the front of the house, General Manager Joseph Geloso returns to the Boston area after leaving the Back Bay Restaurant Group in 2007, to head the Temazcal Lynnfield team and ensure an unforgettable experience for all guests. Geloso’s comprehensive expertise in the restaurant business will take Temazcal to new heights and he is excited to offer a unique approach to dining and entertainment to the Lynnfield community.
Temazcal Tequila Cantina’s Beverage Manager and Assistant GM, Aimee Carter, curates the beverage program which is centered on a high-quality tequila selection, specifically in the creation of ten succulent margaritas. Notable cocktails include the En Fuego Margarita (Jalapeno-infused tequila, Patron Citronge, fresh lime juice, blood orange puree, and agave nectar) and the Mora Margarita (Patron Silver, Cynar, Luxardo, muddled oranges, strawberry puree, ginger simple syrup). Mexican-brewed beers, Tecate and Sol, add appropriate flavor to the traditional beer menu.
