Lump season is in full swing. Many Yellowfin Tuna have been landed recently. Some days are difficult due to sharks, not only in the chum slick, but big ones eating 100 pound plus Yellowfin. I would like to say the wahoo bite is steady, but it is not. Off one day and on the next. Two on two off , these fish should be rig workers. A few nice mako sharks have hit the docks as well. Fishing should continue to improve through March. Once April comes around we will switch gears into spring fishing patterns. If you are out on the Lumps please monitor channel VHF 16. There has been a hook-up to mako sharks just about every trip. These fish are very acrobatic and you don’t want an unexpected passenger in your vessel as you move to reset your drift . If you hook up on one extend the courtesy to boats around you as well letting them know what you have. Come on down to Venice and catch you a big one.
Good luck and stay safe out there.
