New State Record Spotted Sunfish Caught in Suwannee River

For the third time in less than a year, Georgia has a new freshwater fish state record for spotted sunfish! Josh Forsythe of Homerville, GA (Clinch County) landed a record-breaking 13-ounce spotted sunfish on May 5 while fishing the Suwannee River. Measuring nearly 9 inches, this catch surpasses the previous state record of 12 ounces, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Division (WRD).May 7th, 2025

Dropping a GoPro Under the World’s Most Dangerous Fishing Pier

The Okaloosa Island Fishing Pier in Florida is often referred to as the "world's most dangerous pier" due to the high concentration of tiger sharks and other marine life in the area. A video posted on YouTube by Brant Peacher showed a massive tiger shark and "endless amounts of giant sharks" near the pier.  May 6th, 2025

D.A. Sea Wins 2025 Chub Cay Invitational

D.A. Sea, a 65 Paul Mann run by Capt. Mark Stephens, won this year’s Chub Cay Invitational Tournament. The members-only event was held last month. D.A. Sea released four blue marlin to take home first-place honors. The Invitational is hosted by the popular Chub Cay Resort & Marina Club, located at the southern tip of the Berry Islands in the Bahamas.May 5th, 2025
