The October fishing bite was red hot. The nearshore fishing for kings, Spanish mackerel and bull redfish was awesome. These fish were caught on 4 hour fishing charters. We also caught mahi mahi and a nice sailfish in October within 6 miles of shore. The full day charters were great with grouper, amberjack, kings, vermillion snapper and scamp. November is usually the first month of a big show of bull redfish. We will be trolling until we see a school of reds on the surface. We will then cast with light spinning tackle. Curly tail jigs are the best and sometimes topwater plugs. We will still most likely catch kings and Spanish mackerel through early winter.
If you like big fish, a few short hours on the water and calm seas, then November fishing nearshore will be your month. Th e bull redfish should be around till early Spring. The typical north wind is blocked by land and condos and therefore create calm sea conditions.
Offshore fishing should continue to be good for amberjack, vermillion snapper, white snapper and scamp in November.
