[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he water has been a bit cool in March. Therefore the fishing action was a little slower. It is warming and the Spanish mackerel have appeared. Isolated king mackerel have also been caught. April fishing on the Alabama Gulf Coast should be great. We should expect warmer water and more activity. King mackerel and Spanish mackerel should be caught nearshore. Cobia should be cruising near the beach. Farther offshore you should find amberjack. Any type of live bait should attract an amberjack. You can also fish cut squid for triggerfish, vermillion snapper and white snapper. Scamp grouper and red grouper will be found in deeper water around 180 feet. As you can see, there is a lot of variety of fish to catch in April. Let’s go fishing! Call today and book your next fishing adventure.

Costa Rica Fishing:
February fishing out of Quepos was outstanding. A 15-20 sailfish per day average has been experienced off Quepos. A few mahi mahi have also been caught with many in the 30- 40 pound range and larger. The marlin bite has slowed a bit sine early January. Expect March to be similar to February with a great sailfish bite, good mahi mahi bite, rooster fish, jacks, mackerel and more.
