Al Behrendt, president of the BAHAMAS BILLFISH CHAMPIONSHIP, announced at press time that the second leg of the BBC in 2014 will be held in Green Turtle Cay. The long-awaited dredging of the channel into White Sound began in August. When completed, the controlling depth of the channel will be 10 feet at mean low water. The dredging project has been jointly underwritten by the Green Turtle Club and the Bluff House Resort and Marina. The dates for leg two of the BBC are May 21-24, 2014. GREAT HARBOUR CAY MARINER UPDATE: The 71m red and white lattice steel BTC tower at Great Harbour Cay (25° 45’N 077° 52’W) previously destroyed, has been replaced with a new tower of the same approximate height with a flashing red light (FI R) at the top.
