Biloxi Marsh October Forecast

One of our favorite months to fish all year is October. Cool temperatures, and much less boaters on the water thanks to football and hunting season. Most of the spots in the LA marsh you fished in late April and early May will hold fish. Instead of fish coming out of the marsh, they will start moving inside. We will more than likely have our boats in the 3-mile and 9-mile areas. Focus hard on drains or the bays that they empty into. Tides will help with the trout, as long as the water is moving. When the tide is at its slower range, work shorelines for red fish and drum. Focus on anything different: points, cuts, gaps, flooded grass, etc. Spinner baits like strike kings red fish magic will work great, pulled along the banks. A simple Boat Monkey popping cork with a foot of 30 lb. leader rigged to a soft plastic will work too. Tip em with dead shrimp for an extra advantage.

Close to home, the near shore reefs off of Hancock county will be at there best in October. Fish any part of the tide when the water is moving. Use live bait to locate your fish, and switch it over to soft plastics on the bottom or under the cork. Last year October was very foggy, so please be careful out there!
