Capt. Muckleroy Trinity Bay Report

Trinity Bay fishing reportFishing remains decent and the water quality is fair in the outer bay. The north end is still a little fresh. This has been the strangest year I’ve had in a while, last week we hit birds working in a back bay and it was mostly schoolies. Larger trout have started showing up on the flats and shore lines. Wading has been paying off and should continue to improve. We are about to come into the busiest time of the year on the complex and I would like to talk about etiquette. We fish the crowdyest complex on the Texas coast and it can get hectic but there are things we can all do to help.

At a crowed boat ramp get your boat ready while you are in line not in the ramp and make sure the batteries are charged. Turn out you lights and driving lamps while unloading or loading. If east bay is anything like its been for the last two years, patients and tolerance are a must. When approaching a crowded reef start your drift on the up wind side on the edge and drift to the area you are going to fish or use your trolling motor. Dont start the big motor if you don’t have to it dose scare fish. Drift away from the reef before starting up.

Everyone owns the bay and we all can have a great time out there just take others into consideration. There’s nothing worse than being on the water mad. Lets go have a good time.

Tight lines,
