The teams fishing the Presidential Papagayo Cup witnessed some fine Guanacaste fishing this year! Famous for world class marlin fishing, the target species showed up to prove what a great area this is to sport fish. Our small fleet released 20 blue marlin and 17 sailfish during the 2015 competition.
The team of Darryl Schroeder, Ty Visscher, Anthony Arriaga and Mike Davitt fishing aboard the 80’ Bayliss Dream Time had a great tournament and took first place with 2800 points. Placing second was Team USA with anglers J Godwin, Bill Evans and Scott Kozak. They fished aboard the Bushwacker and put 2200 points on the board. Coming in third was Tranquilo with anglers Amanda and Ken Cofer, Bill Pino and Dennis Barbour. They scored 1600 points to come in third. The Amazing Grace Team from Venezuela had a fantastic time and released 1100 points for fourth place.
In the Angler Division standings, Dream Time angler Anthony Arriaga topped the leader board with 1500 points. In second place fishing for USA aboard Bushwacker was J Godwin with 1000 points. Third place angler also fishing on Dream Time was Ty Visscher with 800 points.
