GREER, S.C. – Fatsack Outdoors Inc. recently announced the start of a one of a kind event hosted on the mobile application’s tournament platform that gives anglers the ability to compete against each other in a digital space.
Fatsack declared its intention to host tournaments through a new feature within its mobile fishing app that gives anglers the chance to compete for cash, prizes and bragging rights. The initial idea became a reality when Rat-L-Trap signed on as title sponsor of Fatsack’s first tournament – the 2016 Rat-L-Trap Digital Open.
The 2016 Rat-L-Trap Digital Open is free to enter, runs the entire month of November and is open to all anglers who use the Fatsack app to log their catch in the Rat-L-Trap Digital Open.
For the catch to count it must be caught on a Bill Lewis Outdoors product. Also, anglers must log the specific product in the catch details and post a picture of the fish on a scale with the weight of the bass clearly legible.
With a live leaderboard, contestants can always keep track of what place they are in at any given moment.
This type of event knocks down barriers that may keep anglers from fishing tournaments. Specific event dates, travel and lodging expenses, high entry fees and more are all non-issues when fishing in a Fatsack digital tournament. Anglers now have the ability to fish anywhere it is legal to do so during the month-long event period.
Within the first week of November the 2016 Rat-L-Trap Digital Open has attracted 100 participants who logged 103 bass totaling 150.04 pounds.
“This is our first try at an event like this, so my focus is on how to improve rather than immediate results,” said Fatsack Outdoors, Inc. President Nick Rubio. “I want this to be a platform companies like Rat-L-Trap and other outdoor brands can use to reach and engage customers.”
The Powell Group, Inc., a Montgomery, Ala.-based media and sponsorship sales team, teamed up with Fatsack Outdoors to spread the use of their innovative technology in the fishing industry.
