Fishing in Norway

By Coastal Angler Staff

In 2008, our June cover model, Ingrid Munroe, was fortunate enough to journey to her mother’s home country of Norway. She stayed with her relatives in a small town nestled in a fjord on the west coast of Norway called Sjøholt. “Sjøholt,” she described, “is one of the prettiest places on Earth.” On a beautiful sunny day, Ingrid was able to experience fishing for the first time. Fishing is a huge part of Norwegian life and culture. Instructed by friends, she caught her first fish and learned the proper ways of handling and cleaning it. It was a great experience and it gave her a newfound respect for her Norwegian heritage. Below are a couple photographs from her adventure.
