This tying bench creation was named by my long time friend and Musky On The Fly author Robert Tomes. It is my go to streamer pattern and has allowed me to bring many rainbow, brown trout and steelhead to hand. When tying the King Kong, don’t be afraid to substitute materials. I’ve had great success in the fall with olive. Conversely, in the spring, I tie it with a pearl Estaz body and white rabbit zonker.
Materials:
HOOK: Tiemco 9395 size 2-6g
THREAD: Uni 3/0 – olive
TAIL/OVERBODY: Olive zonker-standard
BODY: Pearl olive Estaz – palmered
OVERWING: Sparkle Hair- light olive pearl
