Water temperature: 77 degrees, lake level: 3.5 feet below full pool, clarity: clear.
The bass are still scattered, and the lake is already starting to drop. There are some fish blowing up in the mornings around flats and on the main lake body. I’m targeting them with a Strike King Sexy Dawg. I will keep one tied on a spinning rod so I can make long casts at the breaking fish. I’m also throwing the Whopper Plopper around lay downs and any brush. The topwater bite is lasting for the first couple hours in the morning.
After the sun gets up, I’m throwing dropshots, jigs and shaky heads off points, deep banks and around docks. There has also been some fish staging out on the humps. The Fluke bite is also starting to pick up around docks and lay downs. If the wind picks up, I’m throwing a Strike King white spinnerbait and a Series 4 Sexy Shad crankbait around the mud lines.
Give us a call for a great fall trip.
