February 24th through the 27th, 45 teams competed in Leg 2 of the 2016 Los Sueños Signature Triple Crown Tournament.
During the first day of fishing, these teams released a combined 1,103 sailfish which beat the all-time record for the most fish ever caught in a single day of Los Sueños tournament fishing! As the tournament continued in Day 2, the tournament fleet increased the number of sails released to 2,036! Heading into Day 3, another Los Sueños Signature Triple Crown Tournament record was bound to be beat. The standing tournament record for most billfish released in any leg of the Los Sueños Signature Triple Crown was 2,170. On Day 3, the participating teams broke that record and set the bar at 2,753 billfish released in the 3 day tournament.
The finish of the tournament was about as tight as it could get with 3 teams tying for 2nd place! Official results state that the 1st Place winner was Agitator, in 2nd Place teams Pelese, Spanish Fly and Sea Angel tied, and in 3rd place team Jaruco. Check out the official scoreboard below!
