Manistee Fishing Report: September 2015

PS1

T he fishing around Manistee has been improving with the warmer temperatures and the thermo cline is down around 80-90 feet. We are catching a lot king salmon, running around 8-15 pounds. Our biggest catch so far this year is around 25 pounds. The kings have been biting plugs, flashers and flys, and cut bait rigs any where from 50 feet down to 120 feet. We have been fishing 100 feet of water out to 400 ft. Lead core and cooper lines have also been working good and dipsy’s with cut bait rigs. The outlook looks good with the warm water and should be good through September. The king fishing should be good until they start to run the river.
