Manistee Fishing Report: Sept. 2014

manistee-fishing-report

Manistee Fishing has been slow because of the north winds. The north winds bring in a lot of cold water close to the shore, so the pierheads have been producing some nice kings. These fish will then start to run the rivers so Lake Manistee should be full of salmon. We’ve been catching fish on plugs; DreamWeavers Captains Choice plugs and Silver Hordes, all glow plugs, green glow, yellow Splatter, plus Spin Doctors have been working well with flys and meat rigs on down riggers and dipseys divers. Two and three color leads have been working good too. Winds should help set up our bank at 100 foot to 200 foot of water. So fishing should be good in the deeper waters. The fish are really scattered all over the lake. Check at your local bait shops for the most recent reports, because it can change every day.
