When fishing in July, you need to beat the heat. Being on the water at 5 a.m. will allow you to catch the early morning bite and drink your favorite beverage to rehydrate by noon. Spotted sea trout and reds will be on the grass flats ready to blast a topwater plug. Go with DOA Shrimp in the Glow/Glitter or Holographic shrimp and flip under the docks and mangroves or work the sandy potholes once the sun comes up. The Sailfish Flats up to Bear Point will be prime areas to fish; lots of baitfish should be present in these areas. Throw the cast net and put live bait out on a float and see what happens. Tarpon will be up in the St. Lucie River hanging around Bessey Creek and the Harbour Ridge flats. Root Beer DOA Terror Eyz flipped to a rolling fish should get a hook up. Snook are at the St. Lucie Inlet and along the beaches. Handle with care when releasing.

Plenty of fish action this month so go out and get ‘em. Wear your Bullfrog!
