Melissa’s first Cobia

Melissa Kidd caught this 36+ inches Rachycentron canadum is a species of perciform marine fish in Coastal fishing miles east of Sabastian Inlet, 120+ feet of water.

Fun Facts: The cobia, is the only representative of the genus Rachycentron and the family Rachycentridae.

Other common names include:

Black kingfish, black salmon, ling, lemonfish, crabeater, prodigal son and black bonito.

Special thanks, to Beau Cole, and my friends who all had a turn at reeling in this fish, Rhett, and Megan, as well as the Cole family for an awesome day on the water.
