[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he month of April already.. The time is flying by, the days are getting longer and that means more fishing time! The bay is finally starting to heat up and the fish are starting to migrate from their wintery patterns. The reefs along the Eastern Shore will start to hold some trout and reds. the trout are starting to transition out into the bays, feeding and getting ready to start spawning in the month of May.
The juvenile brown shrimp will be pushing back into the rivers and the trout and reds will be ready and waiting. With the waters warming up, you should also be able to start working some of the flats and shallow areas with your favorite topwater bait. Live shrimp are always a good bet to produce and all the bait shops should have a good supply. Start targeting the reefs with live shrimp fished under a popping cork or slip cork for some great action. The trout should be hungry and ready to give a good tug.
Hope to see ya on the water!
