SE Florida Fishing Report: June 2014

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]his is the month for all the smaller vessels to have a chance to get involved on all hot offshore action. Seas will be calm, and fish will be plentiful. Dolphin fishing will be at a premium. Top baits to troll for dolphin are rigged bonita strips, squid and ballyhoo. The Wahoo bite should remain strong, early mornings, especially where you find the bonitas. Kingfish will be steady on the reefs up and down the south east Florida coast from about 50 feet to 120 feet of water. Again, use bonita strips as a best bet for the kings.

Inshore, we will be in the middle of the tarpon migration to the north. You will have plenty of shots at them from the piers in South Florida. Bait of choice here is a large pilchard or other large live baits. Yellow tail snapper fishing should also be real good. Remember to use lots of chum. Figure on using a block every 45 minutes you plan on being out there.

As always, if you have any questions or need some help come see us at the shops. Till next month, fish where the fish are.Be sure to check us out on Facebook for the latest reports and specials.
