A Boston Harbor cruise should be at the top of everyone’s “must do” list for summer – especially with the Spirit of Boston offering a whole new cruise experience following a $2.5M makeover. Since returning to Boston in June, the Spirit has become one of the Seaport District’s newest hot spots with its spectacular rooftop lounge, new cruises and interactive entertainment.

The largest of Entertainment Cruises three luxury yachts, the Spirit now features modern indoor and outdoor lounge areas with contemporary furniture and remodeled bars, interactive entertainment and fresh new food and beverage menus. Inside guests can enjoy new innovative dance floors and state-of-the-art DJ booths where many of the area’s top DJ’s will perform outdoors every Thursday through Sunday. New activities include an onboard photo booth, giant Jenga, shuffleboard, beanbag toss, table games in the lounge area and more.

“Every aspect of the renovation project – from significant architectural remodeling to new menu options – was carried out with meticulous attention to detail in perfecting a venue for seasonal activities and diverse entertainment options unlike anything in the Boston area,” said Entertainment Cruises General Manager, Kelley Yelle. “A cruise on the new Spirit is a totally different experience from what people will remember.”

In addition to its regular schedule of lunch, dinner and sunset cruises, the Spirit now offers a new Boathouse Fridays cruise from 3:00pm-9:00pm every Friday through September. According to Yelle, the boathouse concept gives people the flexibility of staying as little or as long as they like. Different from the ship’s typical four hour cruise, a $20 boathouse cruise ticket allows young professional and the after work crowd to come aboard hourly as the ship alternates between dockside and cruising the harbor. While onboard, guests can enjoy live music, interactive activities and a new dining and cocktail menu of fresh, locally sourced food and drink options designed by the Spirit’s corporate executive chef.

After cruising through summer, the Spirit of Boston will continue to offer a year round mix of lunch, dinner, cocktail, holiday and specialty themed cruises across Boston Harbor. Capacity aboard the Spirit of Boston is 600, and has private decks that can accommodate groups of up to 200 and 350 with semi-private space that can hold 45 and 100.
