Stuart Sailfish Regatta on course for second year

Races to be held April 20 and 21 at Stuart Causeway.

The second annual Stuart Sailfish Regatta will be making waves in Stuart April 19, 20 and 21, featuring a weekend filled with hydroplanes, race boats and powerboats competing for prize money and bragging rights.

Races will be held on the Stuart Causeway on a 1.1-mile oval course on the northern side of the bridge. Regatta officials have announced the closure of the Stuart Causeway—all with the approval of local officials and all other related agencies. The new expanded site will allow for more vendors and activities, including live music, a bikini contest and spectator viewing on top of the bridge.

Sanctioned by the American Power Boat Association, the regatta will be open to ten classes of inboards, four classes of outboards and new this year, the Powerboat P1 Super Stock Series.

Online ticket sales began February 8. Until April 5, advanced tickets are is $10. Beginning April 6, tickets will also be available at all branches of Seacoast National Bank from Palm Beach to Vero Beach for $12. Weekend gate entrance is $15 per person each day and children 10 and under are free. Military personnel with a military ID pay just $10.

VIP tickets are limited and will be available for Saturday and Sunday for $50 per day or $75 for a two-day pass, which will include premium seating, access to the pits, lunch, snacks, cold beverages, and full bar. The Friday night Pit Stop Regatta Rally will be held under the Stuart Causeway from 6:30 p.m. -10 p.m.
