Takuyo Sato has been appointed Executive Vice President of Marine Operations for Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. (SMAI), it was announced today by Tak Iwatsuki, SMAI Chairman.
Mr. Sato joined Suzuki Motor Corporation as an engineer in the marine division, where he lead the team responsible for developing Suzuki’s innovative 300-horsepower outboard motor with Suzuki Select Rotation. This exclusive feature allows the boat builder or dealer to set either standard or counter rotation when the outboard is installed, eliminating the need for two separate models.
In late 2012, Sato joined SMAI as Marketing Director of the marine division. In his new position as Executive Vice President of Marine Operations, Sato will continue to focus on developing and introducing new products tailored to the US market, as well as building Suzuki’s brand presence and market share.
“Mr. Sato brings both knowledge and enthusiasm to his duties in the marine division,” said Tak Iwatsuki, Chairman of SMAI. “His rigorous approach to solving problems is greatly appreciated by both senior management and his staff. We are pleased to announce this next step in his career with Suzuki.”
Sato will continue to lead the Marine Team, as well as take on additional corporate responsibilities with SMAI. He will report directly to Mr. Toru Muraki, newly appointed President of SMAI.
