February may well be the best month for gator sized seatrout in the Sebastian Area. The coldest weather will drive over-sized trout into areas of protected deep water such as canals and creeks. Live shrimp, D.O.A Shrimp, 52M Mirro-Lures and soft plastics fished slowly near the bottom have yielded my clients some incredible catches and memories over the years.Capt. Gus BruggerJan 30th, 2017

Inflatable stand-up paddle boards (SUP) have experienced a surge in popularity due to their value, durability and versatility. You get a lot for your money when you purchase an inflatable SUP. These boards are typically sold with a pump, paddle, fin, repair kit and bag. What’s even better, when the board is deflated, everything fits in the bag for easy storage and travel.Treasure CoastJan 30th, 2017
Kingfishing remains strong about 10 miles north of Sebastian Inlet. Keep a sharp eye out for cobia as the month progresses. Last year we crushed the dolphin in March so watch for the dolphin bite to really pick up later this month. Treasure CoastJan 30th, 2017
The speck fishing continues to improve as we move farther into winter and closer to spring. Indian Prairie, Horse Island and Third Point have produced good limits of specks on jigs and minnows and fisherman that are drifting out in front of Taylor Creek are catching limits as well. Capt. As a kayak fisherman, we have the opportunity that nobody else has. We can fish offshore, inshore and bass tournaments. We can do this all from the same boat. Each year it still blows my mind daily that I’m able to drag myself to Kentucky Lake and then to the Bahamas over the course of a month using the same kayak. Here are some of the best ways I’ve found to prepare for your kayak fishing tournament season.Treasure CoastJan 19th, 2017
The Minister has also said that Bahamians will no longer be allowed to flats fish in their own country without a guide. Second-homeowners who have imported duty-paid-Bahamian-registered boats will not be allowed to flats fish without a guide. The countries’ recreational boating/yachting visitors who utilize the many Bahamian owned marinas will not be allowed to flats fish without a guide. Visitors who rent a boat from the many Bahamian boat rental companies will not be allowed to flats fish without a guide. Treasure CoastJan 5th, 2017
Pompano, bluefish, jacks and Spanish mackerel become more of the focus in January. I like to target areas near the inlets like the mouth of the Loxahatchee River in Jupiter and Sailfish Flats in Stuart. The deeper channels and sand flats make them ideal locations for the fish to swim in and out with the tides. Brian NelliJan 3rd, 2017
