Well the fishing has been great down here on the coastal bend. It’s the second week of July and the wind has finally laid down. That tropical storm at the end of June bulled up our tides which resulted in some good fishing. That extra water pushed those fish up on the shoreline, I was catching trout in my redfish spots in 2’ of water that’s normally under 1’ deep.
Now that the wind is starting to calm down, I’ll start fishing some open water reefs and the deeper drop offs along the ICW. Last night was the full moon, the days are starting to get shorter, I hate to say it but we are half way through summer! If you are wanting to go fishing, this is your reminder. Play hooky! It means to skip out on work or school and go fishing.
