Matthew Kerley age 11 caught this 36 inches Chopper blue in Topsail Island.
Fishing in the surf of South Topsail island, we got our rods out at the entrance of our house. Cast out in about 15minutes we thought we had a bite but maybe not. Picked up the rods the bite got stronger. Daddy set the hook, he handed me the rod. The fish didn't knew he was hooked, I started reeling, and then he woke up. Right before we landed it I thought it was a shark because the tail was like a dorsal fin. During the fight people were crowding around watching the battle. We got it in and it was the biggest blue fish I had ever heard of. We caught it on squid.
