Treasure Coast Caster’s (TCC) Senior Division tournament was held August 23, 2015. The weather was beautiful with just a slight breeze and warm temperatures. Anglers left the dock from Capt. Joe’s Bait & Tackle at 6:40 a.m. and returned an hour early (11 a.m.) due to temperatures being in the 90s.
Trout and mangrove snapper were the fish of the day. Here’s the lineup: Kaitlyn Ward caught two trout with one weighing in at 2.11-pounds; Andrew Evans also weighed in a 1.12-pound trout and two mangrove snappers; Savannah Ward a 1.5-pound trout and two mangrove snappers; and Colt Krischke, a mangrove snapper. Brayden Adams caught the only sheepshead—1.14-pounds; and Tagaee Walker caught and released his first goliath grouper.
RESULTS
Middle School Division
1st Place: Kaitlyn Ward, Fairlawn Elementary, Fort Pierce – 50 points
2nd Place: Brayden Adams, F.K. Sweet Elementary, Fort Pierce – 15 points
3rd Place: Colt Krischke, Lincoln Park Academy, Fort Pierce – 15 points
High School Division
1st Place: Andrew Evans, John Carroll High, Fort Pierce – 55 points
2nd Place: Savannah Ward, Fort Pierce Westwood, Fort Pierce – 55 points
3rd Place: Tagaee Walker, Fort Pierce Westwood, Fort Pierce – 25 points
Biggest Fish of the tournament went to Kaitlyn Ward for her 2.11-pound trout. Along with her trophy and a goodie bag, Kaitlyn received a $50 gift card that was donated by Professional Outfitters of Vero Beach.
After the awards ceremony, boat volunteers Anna Green and Capt. Rob Ward were recognized. Each received a custom fishing shirt with the TCC logo on the back and their name on the front. Next, the Treasure Coast Caster of the Year, Savannah Ward, and also runner up Andrew Evans were given custom TCC fishing shirts. This is the second year that Savannah has been the TCC of the year.
